Saxophone Ensembles

In addition to performances opportunities with the larger ensembles - wind ensembles, marching band, jazz ensemble, and (occasionally) orchestra - the Saxophone Studio at Eastern Kentucky University offers performance opportunities in Saxophone Ensembles.

The E.K.U. Saxophone Quartets (two of them in the 2004-5 school year) feature standard repertory in the saxophone quartet tradition as well as more recently composed chamber works.

The jazz-oriented group Saxophobia performs both works in the Supersax style (5 saxophones and rhythm section) and in the unaccompanied "chamber jazz" format of groups such as Mike Mower's "Itchy Fingers" and the 29th Street Saxophone Quartet.
