***SPRING 2007 CLASS INFO AND UPDATES***
Students in FRE 101 and FRE 102: Our textbook "Allons-y" is a
special customized version for EKU, containing parts of the textbook and
workbook bound together, with CDs, into a Volume I (used for both FRE 101 and
FRE 102) and a Volume II (used for both
201 and 202). No other versions or editions of "Allons-y" will
be acceptable, so please do NOT decide to buy it online.

Students in FRE 320 Business French:
The textbook is Business French: An Intermediate Course by
Jean-Luc Penfornis, along with an in-text CD and the Student Activities
Manual. The three items are available as
a package (ISBN-10: 0-618-75046-0). Each student must also have a good
French-English dictionary such as one of the Oxford/Hachette versions.
(Any student who
wishes to take FRE 320 and has a problem enrolling in it should e-mail me to
ask about a possible override.)

Spring 2007 but will be available in Fall 2007.

TR: 10:30 - 12:00 a.m. and 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.
Other hours available upon request!
Plan ahead! There will not be
any French courses offered

EKU-Richmond in the summer.

Note: Both FRE 340 and FRE 360 are
required for the French major.
FRE 360 French Grammar was offered in Spring 2006 and will probably be offered
next in fall 2007.
FRE 340 will probably not be offered again until spring 2008.
Note: We ordinarily offer FRE 101, FRE 102, FRE 201, FRE 202, and FCC 220 every spring and also every fall, in addition to other courses at the 200 level and the 300 or 400 level, according to the needs of the students in our program and to availability of faculty. It is possible that we will offer FRE 204 Review of French Grammar in spring 2007 and that we will not offer FCC 220 during that semester. If you need to take FCC 220 during the 2006-2007 academic year, you should take it this fall.

FCC 220 is a required supporting course for the French certificate, the minor, and the major. It can also satisfy a general education requirement.
If you are attempting to complete a
major in French
but
are not currently enrolled in a French course,
please

planning future course offerings!
HOW TO DECLARE A FRENCH
MAJOR, MINOR, OR CERTIFICATE:
Download and print the Declaration/Change of Major Form which you will find online at <www.advising.eku.edu/changemajor>
If you wish to declare a French major, first print out a "What-If" CARES report to see what courses will be required. If you are interested in a minor or certificate in French, see the requirements listed above.
There is not a specific line on the form for declaring a certificate. Use the line for "second minor" and print CERTL-FRCC, Certificate in French Conversation and Culture.
After filling out the
form, return it to the Office of Academic Advising,
If you are declaring a French major, you need to include your "What-If" CARES report!
