COURSE OBJECTIVES: This course is designed to introduce non-business students to the fundamental principles of management and the various functions and roles of the manager. Specific objectives include:

1. To introduce students to the functions and processes inherent in management and to provide a basic theoretical background in the management of people and processes within modern formal organizations;

3. To provide students with opportunities to practice/apply management theories and concepts.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS: Students are required to demonstrate knowledge and application of management principles by regularly participating in classroom discussion and taking examinations. Exams and other assignments will test student knowledge of topics listed in a later section of the syllabus and will require students to think analytically, apply knowledge to specific situations, relate topics and models to their own careers and communicate professionally both orally and in writing.

COURSE EVALUATION: the final course grade will be determined based upon the following criteria:

        4 Exams (100 points each)                                         400 pts.
