I have = designed an=20 assignment that will serve as a culminating project. Students will be responsible = for=20 creating a brochure with information related to a noncommunicable = disease of=20 their choice. The = brochures will=20 include general information on the disease (i.e. what is it, what causes = it),=20 information on the symptoms of the disease, how the disease is = diagnosed, how it=20 is treated, short- and long-term effects, and where someone could access = further=20 information on the disease. = The=20 completed brochures will be reproduced and will be given to area = physician=20 offices, the local health department, and the community hospital. Noncommunicable = Disease Brochure

As you have = learned, a=20 noncommunicable disease is an illness that cannot be spread from one = person to=20 another. There are many = types of=20 noncommunicable diseases. = Some are=20 present from birth. Other = noncommunicable diseases can be the result of lifestyle behaviors, or = they may=20 be caused by factors in a person=92s environment.

Assignment:

Create a = brochure that=20 provides detailed information on one noncommunicable disease. You may choose which disease = on which to=20 base your brochure. Your = brochure=20 should include the following information:

Statistics relating to the disease = (for=20 example: how many people it affects).=20

Your = brochure must be=20 appealing to look at. You = may want=20 to include a picture of clipart- something to grab a person=92s = attention. Your brochure should be neatly = organized=20 and free of spelling and grammatical errors. Information included in the = brochures=20 should be FACT only and up-to-date. =20 All resources used in creating the brochures should be dated only = as far=20 back as 2001. Please feel = free to=20 add any =93extras=94 that may make your brochure more appealing or more=20 informational. =20
