Latin America Culture Brochure

 

Introduction

 

Over the past few weeks we have studied the diverse geography, history and culture of Latin America.  During the unit, we have learned how people form their cultures arou= nd past decisions and the land on which they live. 

 

Task

 

Create a brochure detailing the unique culture= of a Latin American country.  = Your brochure will be displayed during the KMS Cultural Fair in March. =

 

Procedure

 

ü      = Select one of the following countries for your brochure focus:  Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Belize, Honduras, Guatemala, Haiti, or Jamaica.

ü      = Use your class note, Internet research, and trade books to locate information. =

ü      = Include the following information about your country in your brochure: holidays, traditions, dress, customs, and beliefs.

ü      = Front panel should contain title and your name.

ü      = Include graphics or drawings throughout brochure.

 

Scoring Guide

 

Level 4 &= nbsp;           All parts complete. Content is accurate. Writer maintains focus and purpose;

few to no grammatical errors; graphics relevant to topic; high evidence of effo= rt and creativity

 

Level 3       =       Six or more parts complete. Few to no errors in content; writer maintains focus= and purpose; few grammatical errors; graphics included; effort and creativity evident

 

Level 2       =       Three – four parts incomplete. Content lacks accuracy.  Writer has lapses in focus and pur= pose; several grammatical errors; graphics missing or not relevant to topic<= /o:p>

 

Level 1       =        Five or more parts incomplete. Content inaccurate. Wr= iter does not show evidence of focus or purpose; numerous grammatical errors
